Creme Egg Brownie

After seeing all the pictures of everyone making the Creme Egg Brownies i just had to try them for myself and i am glad i did! These Creme Egg Brownies are delicious although a little bit sickly if you eat too many in one go.

Here is the recipe, so you can make this lovely Creme Egg Brownie recipe.

Ingredients

  • 185g Dark Chocolate ( i used Milk Chocolate in my one and they turned out just as nice)
  • 185g Unsalted Butter
  • 85g Plain Flour
  • 40g Cocoa Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • 275g Caster Sugar
  • 6 Creme Eggs (fridge cold)
Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 180oc/Gas Mark 4.
  2. Melt the butter and chocolate together either in the microwave in 30 second bursts or by sitting the bowl on a saucepan of hot water. (Putting it in a bowl over a pan of hot water is the better option as it is easier to burn the chocolate in the microwave if you don't keep an eye on it.) Once melted, set aside to cool.
  3. In a separate bowl, crack in the eggs and add in the sugar and then whisk until the egg and sugar mixture becomes mousse like, it will take a few minutes to be like that, but it will be pale and will have doubled in volume and size.
  4. Once you have mixed the eggs and sugars together thoroughly add in the cooled melted butter and chocolate mixture and combine it all together.
  5. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder and gently fold it in, before pouring the mixture into a regular baking tray. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once baked, remove from the oven and cut the Creme Eggs in half (this can be tricky as i found a few of the eggs would break up so be careful when cutting them in half) gently placing the halves into the brownies evenly spaced then pop back in the oven for a further 10 minutes to melt the Creme Eggs.
  7. Finally, let the brownies cool completely in the tin before cutting into slices.
They also taste nice while they are still slightly warm and have a bit of a gooey centre, but that is all down to how you like your brownies.

Enjoy baking this recipe!
